Primary Toolbox is an independent resource created to support Primary experiences. It is not an official publication or resource of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Transparency About Our Use of AI
We recognize that artificial intelligence (AI) is a new and rapidly developing technology, and that everyone has different levels of comfort with its use.
This page explains how Primary Toolbox uses AI and the safeguards we have established so families, teachers, and Primary leaders can decide for themselves if they feel comfortable using our tools.
Using Technology Thoughtfully
We believe technology can be a valuable tool when used with wisdom, care, and respect. Primary Toolbox uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help create artwork, activities, and teaching resources more efficiently, but it does not replace personal inspiration, spiritual preparation, or the connection between a teacher and the children they serve.
How We Use AI
AI may help create:
- Visuals and illustrations
- Activity artwork
- Game graphics
- Backgrounds and decorative elements
- Other creative resources designed to help children learn and participate
Every resource is reviewed before being included in Primary Toolbox. AI assists the creative process, but human judgment and review remain essential.
Our Approach to Sacred Images
We recognize that images of Jesus Christ, Heavenly Father, scripture events, and other sacred subjects deserve special care and reverence.
Primary Toolbox follows these guidelines:
- We never create realistic, photographic, or lifelike AI depictions of Jesus Christ.
- We have never created AI-generated images depicting Heavenly Father.
- We do not present AI artwork as an actual likeness of the Savior, official Church artwork, or historically accurate representation.
- AI-generated images are reviewed and revised when needed to ensure they meet our standards for reverence and appropriateness.
Depictions of Jesus Christ
When illustrated depictions of Jesus Christ are included, they are intended only as reverent teaching illustrations. They are not meant to represent an actual likeness of the Savior or recreate historical moments.
Our AI artwork intentionally avoids realistic depictions of deity. Artwork may include styles such as:
- Cartoon illustration
- Painterly illustration
- Storybook artwork
- Symbolic or child-friendly visual styles
- Other creative styles appropriate for teaching and learning
The purpose is to help children focus on gospel principles and teachings of Jesus Christ.
